Halloween time
November 2, 2007 – 5:23 am
I really like holidays. Well, there are some holidays that I might not be really excited about, but Halloween is definitely a fun one for me. I like the dressing up, the trick-or-treating, and seeing costumes. Also I get to dress up myself, which is sometimes fun.
Taking my daughter trick-or-treating is fun. But I will tell you that it’s a different type of time in 2007 than it was in 1987. When I went trick-or-treating, I remember saying things like “thank you” after receiving candy, but I might have overdone it when I was teaching my daughter good mannters. She walks up and says “Trick-or-treat”. No big deal. After receiving candy, she doesn’t say thank you, she ends with “Thank you. Have a happy Halloween.” Darn, those manners hopefully will last a lifetime.
Anyway, I dressed up with a mask and realized that there was too much of my skin color showing through the eye-holes so I bought some makeup. Yes. I wore makeup. It’s not the first time either, I wore some back in the 1980’s when my family dressed me as a woman for Halloween. That was wonderful, I think that I was eventually successful at destroying all photographic evidence of that event (I wasn’t cute, and no, I wouldn’t do me).
So enough talk, time for some pictures!

this mask was a little too uncomfortable to wear, it had a full foam pad in the back of the head

here I am at work, just a trial fit for the costume

here I’m posing with a co-worker, she seemed a little worried with me

a true friend and co-worker, she helped with my makeup and office decoration

not many people at work dressed up, but this lady did

seems that co-workers don’t mind standing near me when I have my mask on

I should have looked into charging for pictures taken with me – ha ha

I was smiling in this picture, but it might be hard to tell

well, not everyone was willing to stand too close to me

here is my beautiful Princess Belle, she is too perfect

this young trick-or-treator warned me to stay away, apparently my mask scared him

there was a 1-to-1 ratio of parents to kids, or really close to that ratio

I started coming at people and putting my hands around their necks, most reactions were jumpy

my next victim, a totally great lady who just had no idea the attack was coming

Another holiday down this year… I’m already ramping up for the next big holiday though.
