The largest manufacturer of laptops, worldwide, is Quanta Computer. You might not have heard of Quanta Computer, but you've heard of their customers, here's a partial list: Apple, Dell, Gateway, Hewlett-Packard, Matsushita Electric Industrial, and Sony.
