iPhone Here, iPhone There, iPhone Not Everywhere

iPhone Here, iPhone There, iPhone Not EverywhereThe iPhone is more of a toy than a productivity tool for business.  That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

For more proof that the iPhone is meant for hackers or people with more money than responsibilities, the latest iPhone story on the Internet is the ability to add custom ringtones (link).  Is this a big deal?  Not to me.  But I have more responsibilities than money so I’m not running around with an iPhone.

Of course with all that’s happening with the iPhone there is more interest in areas that lies with future plans than with current ones.  For instance, at least a dozen people got together to search through the patent office online to look for more information from Apple that is iPhone related.  The result?  A future iPhone based on the iPod Nano (think smaller and less memory with a higher price).

I’m sure that eventually I’ll have an iPhone in my hands, but only when the company I work for pays for it or someone I know brings it to me asking for some assisance.
