Performance Monitor

1.79769e+308You must hear things like “can I buy a vowel” as a sarcastic statement when someone spells something that seems to have too many consonants and not enough vowels; what would you hear when a simple number is required instead of something crazy like “1.79769e+308″?

I was really surpised when I was setting up a performance monitor on a Microsoft Exchange server and when attempting to enter a “Disk Read Time” I was given the option of filling in a number “greater than or equal to zero and less than or equal to 1.79769e+308”.Anyone have an idea what number range would be valid, I mean, what number range that a non Ph.D. mathematician can figure out to use?

Ya, let me get out my I-don’t-think-so calculator.
