BarExAv attacking my Event log

February 15, 2012 – 1:07 pm

BarExAv attacking my Event logLike all of the well known computer geek peeps, I understand the importance of logging events. On a day in history I like to refer to as a what-is-in-my-log-file? kind of day, I found some events that I have not previously played around with, so I started searching for an answer, the answer wasn’t found online using Google or Yahoo! or Bing (sometimes I’ll try anything). What is a BarExAv and what is it doing in my log files? Read the rest of this entry »

Good morning virus

December 5, 2011 – 9:58 am

Logged into my desktop computer at the office this morning and Microsoft’s Security Essentials was talking to me, asking me to interact with it. It wasn’t a big deal, just a small deal. Well, not a deal but I guess just a thing. Ya, a thing, not a deal. Anyway, the thing wasn’t big either. A couple mouse clicks and then the virus … Read the rest of this entry »

Computer support offer

November 18, 2011 – 1:03 pm

computer support offerHow about recovery? I don’t mean recovery from an alcohol induced night of fun and Bud Light. I’m a major proponent for alcohol, fun, and Bud Light. I’ll show you about the Bud Light thing sometime soon, but for now, this is not about Bud Light. This is about how and what I should do to make more money and have more free time. This won’t answer all the questions, just some of them. Read the rest of this entry »

Billions and trillions of bytes

May 17, 2011 – 12:46 pm

Billions and trillions of bytesI haven’t gotten to the download point where there is over 2 TB of proveable downloadable data. I’m sure that I’ve been responsible for more electron movement than 97.4% of Internet users (helps that the Internet is my friend and it’s a loose friend that gives everyone access). Starting to think about the quantity of data that comprises 2 TB made me wonder what I could compare that quantity to… or what couldn’t I compare it to? Read the rest of this entry »

News isn’t always news sounding

May 16, 2011 – 2:04 pm

News isn't always news soundingI’ve been reading a lot more recently. Not because I enjoy reading (*) but more because it’s needed. While I do skim many articles just for the quick info, there are definitely pieces worth devoting more time and attention to… these are not any of those stories. No, these are a different kind of story… Read the rest of this entry »

How to make Symantec go away

April 27, 2011 – 2:43 pm

How to make Symantec go awayI’ve dealt with many software programs and viruses (virii?) and trojans and malware and shareware and freeware and payware and stupidware and now I have had the displeasure of dealing with Symantec software removal. Removing Symantec is a chore that proves that you should never install Symantec. Check out what I needed to do in order to remove it. Read the rest of this entry »

What have I been doing

March 7, 2011 – 10:53 am

What have I been doingWork. That’s all. Noooo…. just messing aound. I’ve been doing more than just work, but work has been accounting for a lot of time. Some of you that read this blog might know me personally, but most definitely do not know me. I don’t know if this is brag worthy, but 4 out of 5 people that don’t know me, like me more than those that do know me. That’s a true fact! Read the rest of this entry »

Bills and bills and more bills

October 12, 2010 – 12:07 pm

Bills and bills and more billsI can handle the bills. I can handle the bills and more bills. I don’t know how to handle the bills and bills and more bills. Not yet at least. I was thinking about how I could better track my bills and bills and more bills, and then the solution came to me! Read the rest of this entry »

Ideas are flowing

October 1, 2010 – 10:52 am

Ideas are flowingI come up with new ideas a lot. A lot. Like, I’m overthinking for others that are underthinking. I have a new list of ideas that I haven’t actually listed out anywhere, but in my mind they are ready to develop and become reality instead of just my imagination. Where to start? First, I need to help others. Read the rest of this entry »

Facebook warning those that listen

August 20, 2009 – 2:06 pm

Facebook warning those that listenToday I was asked about a link that someone received in an email. The link was to a video that appeared to be on Facebook. Because the appearance of the link seemed legitimate there was almost no suspicion drawn, until the user realized that they didn’t know the sender of the message. Read the rest of this entry »
